For a special edition of our Movie Night, we invited our guests to an evening dedicated to one of the most fascinating figures in modern architecture: Eileen Gray. At Cinema Lumière in Antwerp, we discovered together the story behind E.1027, her iconic house on the Côte d’Azur and a masterpiece of modernist architecture.
Through the screening of the docufiction Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea, guests were given a unique insight into the life and work of a designer who was far ahead of her time. The film not only highlights the architectural significance of E.1027, but also explores the complex history surrounding recognition, authorship, and Eileen Gray’s place within architectural history.
E.1027 was designed by Eileen Gray together with architect Jean Badovici and has become a symbol of innovative living: a place where architecture, interior design, and the inhabitants’ way of life come together as one. Her vision of space, functionality, and harmony continues to inspire architects and interior enthusiasts around the world to this day.
After the screening, guests had the opportunity to continue the conversation during a convivial reception with drinks & bites. In a relaxed atmosphere, ideas were exchanged and inspiring discussions emerged around architecture, design, and the power of thoughtful creation.
With this Movie Night, Immodôme once again brought together lovers of architecture and aesthetics around a story that perfectly reflects our passion for homes with personality. It was an inspiring evening where film, heritage, and design came together.
