With 'The Star Watchers' and 'The Cloud Palace', the 'We love Mariefonds' gives children guidance in difficult times!

For many years, 'We Love Mariefonds' has ensured that on all beds of long-term or terminally ill children in university hospitals in Flanders and Brussels, the children's book 'The Star Watchers' and a Star Watcher doll are placed. 'The Star Watchers' are also used by psychologists and other social workers, for example in the oncology department, when a loved one such as a parent, brother or sister dies....

Now there is also the listening story 'The Cloud Palace'. Not only children in hospitals can listen to the story and sing along, anyone can download the listening story for free. 'The Cloud Palace' is there primarily for children, but it is also nice for adults to listen (along) too. This way, you can start a conversation and grief becomes discussable. Parents can snuggle into the seat with their child, teachers can listen to it in the classroom, therapists can use it in their practice.

'The Cloud Palace' tells the story of a people who live among the clouds with the task of tracking down tears, going to collect them and processing them. The story introduces children to the existence of different types of tears. Tears of happiness, sadness, lack, joy, love, anger and fear. This is how we give existence to each tear, because each tear has its own story.

An impressive cast including Michael Pas, Els Dottermans, Nico Sturm, Jonas Van Geel, Bruno Vanden Broecke, Filip Peeters, Slons (ours), Robbert Vervloet and Frank Deboosere put their backs into this heartwarming project! Together with Julie and Paul, the inspirers of the 'We Love Mariefonds', they hope to support children and their families through grief and farewells.
