MODERN BUILDING IN DEURNE 1925–1975

Between the two World Wars, Deurne-South developed into a laboratory for modernist architecture. Young artists, intellectuals, and Antwerp-based architects experimented there with innovative ideas. Even after the Second World War—especially around Expo 58—that creative energy remained visible.

During this walk, we will discover the work of well-known figures such as Eduard van Steenbergen, Renaat Braem, and Walter Van den Broeck, as well as lesser-known talents like Gustaaf Van Meel, Nachman Kaplansky, Lode Wouters, and Albert Barentsen. Are you a fan of architecture? Would you like to learn more about the remarkable houses built around the Boekenberg and Te Boelaer parks?
Immodôme warmly invites you to join an architectural walk led by Georges Goffin and Nel Lernout—architecture experts and professional guides.

Afterwards, Immodôme will treat you to a glass of something nice!
