On 5 March, Immodôme organised an architecture walk through the Floraliën neighbourhood in Berchem.

The walk starts at Immodôme Berchem, located in the Résidence du Centenaire. The building is a creation of Florent Vaes, designed in New Objectivity in 1931 at the request of the Entreprise de Maçonnerie, béton Armé et Menuiserie S.A.

Opposite Immodôme Berchem, we look at the protected war memorial located in the middle of Elizabeth Avenue designed by Van Averbeke and Dupon. This monument was erected in honour of the fallen of 1914-1918.

On Koninklijklaan, we admire an atypical house by Leon Stynen. Followed by a further modernist apartment building designed by Paul Meekels, designed in 1961.

Architect Louis Rijmenant is also fully present in the Floralies neighbourhood. Various buildings pass by during the walk. At the corner of Rue Royale and Rue Hilda Ram, the guide tells the story of a multi-family house in Art Deco style, also designed by Louis Rijmenant. A few years ago, Immodôme was allowed to sell this gem.

At 54 Louis Gerristslaan, we admire a row house, also in new-business style, designed by architect Florent Laforce. A beautiful house bursting with character.

Afterwards, we invite architecture lovers for a snack and a drink in our office. A fine conclusion to an exciting Sunday afternoon.
