On Sunday 19 March, led by Hugo Broes, experienced city guide in Lier , we will walk past some beautiful houses. We will discover the stories hidden behind the facades. Architects such as Edward Careels , Philippe Van Boxmeer and Bernard De Meyer passed by. A top experience for architecture lovers.

We started the walk at the Immodôme office in Berlaarsestraat - an art nouveau building designed by Bernard De Meyer. His architecture is particularly known for its love of materials and eye for craftsmanship.

Via Berlaarsestraat, we walk to St Gummarus Church built between 1378 and 1540. The tower is popularly known as "the pepper pot" in Lier. The church will be completely renovated from March 2023 onwards and in 2028 it will shine like it used to.

Along the idyllic Kleine Nete, we stop at the building 'De Tiber', a former grain warehouse. In 1978, the building was protected as a monument. Afterwards, the building was completely renovated and transformed into a residential residence.

On the main market, Hugo gives us a detailed explanation of the architecture of the town hall. This gem is built in Brabant Rococo style. Very rare for a public building.

As we walk back towards the Immodôme office, we pass the beautiful shop Harvey & Hayes, the sympathetic owner also allowing us to admire the beautiful interior of his authentic cheese shop.

Afterwards, Immodôme treated to a drink at Immodôme Lier located in a typical art-nouveau style building where a vernissage by Tom Andries was also on display.
