Description

Located near the heart of Hoboken village, just a few steps from the Monday market, this home overlooks a quiet square and the local church. The Hobokense Polder nature reserve, the ferry to Kruibeke, and the River Scheldt are only a few streets away, while nearby tram and bus stops offer quick access to the center of Antwerp – village charm in a cosmopolitan city.

Picture the quintessential façade of an authentic townhouse, and chances are you’re thinking of something like this: warm ochre brickwork with delicate white and light-blue accents, elegant wrought-iron details, and a finely crafted dormer window. Inside, the charm continues with beautiful ceiling moldings, original wood staircase with fine detailing, authentic plank floors, and stately fireplaces.

At the end of the hallway, you'll find a spacious eat-in kitchen with an XL skylight and a view of the lush Mediterranean garden – perfect for hosting guests, throwing parties, or accommodating a large family. In the garden, a stunning golden acacia takes center stage, flanked by a palm tree that reinforces the Southern feel. If the shade of these trees hasn’t already brought you a sense of calm, the gentle trickle of the pond’s fountain surely will.

Mezzanine level: walk-in wardrobe, bathroom with shower, and a separate laundry room.
First floor: three bedrooms, including a generous master and two smaller rooms that could easily be converted back into one large space.
Second floor: two additional spacious bedrooms.

Basement. Recent gas boiler (3 years old).

Ready to write a new chapter in this beautiful, authentic townhouse in the heart of this village-like district? This might just be the place for you.

Whenever we’re in our beautiful Mediterranean garden, it always feels like we’re on holiday!
Inge & Eric, the owners,

owner speaks out

When I think of our house, the song “Our House is a very, very fine house” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young instantly plays in my head. It truly is a wonderful place to live. We’re selling our favorite spot with heavy hearts, but now that our children have left the nest, the house has become too big, and we’re ready to pursue other dreams.
This place holds nothing but beautiful memories – a delightful home in a warm, welcoming neighborhood where our children grew up happily and safely. When we bought this home in 1988, we were immediately charmed by its location – right across from the grassy square and the church, beautifully lit in the evenings. We also instantly fell in love with the many authentic features, which we’ve preserved with great care.
Both front and back offer lovely green views. And everything you need is within walking distance: supermarkets, grocers from every corner of the world, cozy cafés, restaurants, artisan bakeries, an abundance of sports facilities, a beautiful park, the Polder, Fort 8, schools, public transport – the list goes on.
Of course, staying in is just as nice, especially in our Mediterranean garden. I planted the golden acacia in the back after the birth of my eldest daughter – she’s now 36. Sitting here, you feel like you’ve escaped to an exotic destination...
