Description

In the quietest part of the Markgravelei, opposite green Domain Hertoghe. Fine shops within walking distance and brand new Domestic further down the street. Close to major approach roads, so quickly away in all directions. Around the corner: culture in deSingel and sports in the Wezenberg.

Punishingly renovated bourgeois home i.c.w. architect Quentin Bascourt (2018), bursting with authentic elements. Hall with gorgeous mosaic floor. Downstairs in front: super handy, large storage room for bikes, buggies or hobby stuff. Atmospheric open living room on new parquet. Crackling wood fire, impressive windows, high sliding door to the recently laid-out city garden (NO) - a place that invites you to socialise.

Surprising twist: the modern spiral staircase to the luxury kitchen with subtle built-in gas fire, warming drawer, quality appliances, maximum light. Plenty of room for chatting and cooking in this light and airy heart of the house.

Authentic double door to the classy dining area on original parquet (or office, playroom, 2nd living room). Blessed view of the green crowns of Domain Hertoghe and the daylight streaming in - a soothing oasis.

On +2 you will find 1 large bedroom, the 1st (children's) bathroom with bath, double washbasin and toilet, walk-in dressing room to the 2nd renovated bathroom (2019) with double washbasin, walk-in shower and bath. At +3 on both sides a large bdrm with private washbasin. On the landing: the mansard, now laundry room and technical room with solar water heater. Roof with solar panels (2020).

Surprisingly original converted bourgeois house with lots of light and space in a prime Antwerp neighbourhood - a heart-warming family home.

For two generations, this was a warm home for our family.

owner speaks out

This is a lovely, real family home. For two generations, this was a warm home for our family. I grew up here myself as a child. So nice that my wife, our two children and I now live here ourselves. All this time, the house grew with the needs and requirements of our family. We find the combination of preserved authentic elements and contemporary comfort incredibly charming. Our garden is a wonderful place of tranquillity. On top of that, the green oasis across the street is our second garden - truly unique in the city. We have lived here for a long and very happy time. Today we are happy to let another family write its story here.
