Description

Located in a distinguished 19th-century avenue, a 5-minute bike ride from the city center. Streetcar and bus stop nearby. Easy access and plenty of parking space in front of the door. Unique addresses such as Ciné Mangiare, Oak or Volta are within walking distance. Tranquility and greenery abound in the nearby parks and romantic beguinage.

The charming character of this noble citizens' house immediately stands out, thanks to its yellow neoclassical facade, black and white marble floor in the hall and authentic wooden staircase. At the back of the hall you will find the guest toilet, on the right the cellar. To the left is the living space, partially furnished with a custom-made library cabinet. The living space flows into the kitchen, which, in turn, connects to a romantic city garden. The ideal place for an instant Provence feeling.

At the front on the second floor is the living room, with a beautiful view of the Elisabeth-Begijnhof. In summer, the chestnut trees of the Begijnhoflaan provide a beautiful green screen. Here you will also find a renovated bathroom with 2 sinks, bath, shower and toilet. The sun terrace provides even more outdoor space on this level.

On the 2nd and 3rd floor are 2 bedrooms each. Remarkable: from the master bedroom you can even see the Castle of the Counts in winter! Finally, a folding staircase leads to the attic. So there is no lack of space in this house, which has lots of natural light, authentic elements and high ceilings throughout.

The owners, Muriel and Bart,

owner speaks out

'From the beginning we were strongly charmed by the beautiful facade of the house and the wide avenue with its double row of chestnut trees. When renovating, we respected the soul of the house to the maximum by retaining most of the room arrangement. The wooden window frames at the front were also carefully reconstructed.
The house is bathed in light during all seasons. The shady city garden is a delightful extension of the library and kitchen. There is plenty of green in the neighborhood thanks to the many parks. The Prinsenhof is also within walking distance, as is the entire city center. From the front door to the Castle of the Counts is exactly an 8-minute walk.
We will certainly miss the active neighborhood work of the non-profit organization Elisabeth-Begijnhof, which provides a connection and encounter with many neighbors through the community center, neighborhood activities and the annual Beguinage feasts.
