Description

Ten minutes from the center of Ghent and easy on the approach roads. Several schools within a perimeter of 10 minutes, stores and public transport in the immediate vicinity. Fine living in this neighborhood.

This house holds the middle between authentic charm and bold brutalism. The original home is characterized by unique decorative tiles, a historic wooden staircase, handsome wooden doors and floors, and unusual window layouts. The addition was boldly planned out. Large window sections, exposed concrete, a triangular eave, set-back joints and fiery red bricks, make a clear statement. Not for pussies.

The kitchen was cleverly designed with tailor-made cabinets in beech and with a concrete countertop, tough and with a scandinavian edge. The owners transformed the original garage into storage and laundry room. On the second floor are two spacious bedrooms and a bathroom with tub and shower. The second floor includes the master bedroom with space for dressing room and with a separate staircase with access to the second floor bathroom.

The garden of the house is ideal for children to romp around. A real tree house for pirates and lots of space to play. The terrace at the house is ideal for parents. Fine breakfast in the sun or delicious bbq. Here it works fine!

'The light coming in here gives energy'
The owners,

owner speaks out

We bought this house for our family with two children. The location was important to us and in addition we wanted a house full of character, not a random thing. The nice elements quickly won us over, along with the garden. We love the historic touches of the house. Older elements give soul to a home. We created the extension in a different style just to provide counterbalance. The light coming in here gives energy. We believe the light and space effectively influence our mood and the attitude of our children.
