Description

IN OPTION - In the Willy Staeslei, one of the most beautiful streets in Sint-Mariaburg, you live very quietly, and within walking distance of shops, public transport, schools and restaurants.

Eclectic bourgeois house, built in 1900 as a holiday villa. At the time, rural Mariaburg was a popular holiday spot for Antwerp's city dwellers. Today, its neoclassical character and the contemporary renovation from 2018 make a very successful, inviting combination.

Modern wood-frame extension on the 'bell floor' with lots of light in the atmospheric dining room and giga living kitchen with nice island for apero or quick breakfast with great garden view. In front the cosy sitting room with cupboards in Afromosia wood and trendy Terrazzo floor. The perfectly oriented garden (South) is a paradise for romping, swimming or lazing under one of the chestnut trees.

Basement: a fine hobby room, workshop, or interesting as a practice or office. The basement (80 m/2), formerly sleeping place of the maids, is now laundry room with access to the garage with automatic gate.

On the 1st floor: master bedroom and 2nd bedroom. The bathroom with pink mosaic tiles is guaranteed to have you singing in the shower in the morning! On the 2nd floor the 3rd bedroom, a 4th room, now playroom, and a separate storage room or dressing room. Bathroom number 2 with bathtub and the same cheerful interior.

Energy-efficiently renovated (EPC B), code-keyboard access, home automation, robotic mower, air conditioners in the bedrooms, swimming pool with heat pump, garden irrigation system ...

owner speaks out

'The character and history of the house are fantastic. The large trees are still silent witnesses of a bygone era. The house even partly fits under the impressive chestnut tree, which appealed to us enormously when we first came here. In summer, the trees provide pleasant shade in the garden and house. In winter, when the leaves have fallen, the sun shines in and it is lovely to linger behind the glass. The atmosphere in the street with all the characterful houses is simply unique. The nickname of our street? The Cogels-Osylei of Mariaburg! When you walk around here, you immediately understand why. In this neighbourhood you experience the urban feeling, with people and movement all around, but you can quickly seek greenery and peace and quiet here.'
