Architects Raman & Schaffrath built this brutalist home 'De Zordo' in 1977: béton brut, split levels, vistas, lots of light and the fireplace as the heart of the house. The owners recently restored this 'loft in height' to its original glory, together with one of the original architects, Fritz Schaffrath. In doing so, they chose only top notch quality in an unseen level of finish, such as steel window profiles to original design and underfloor heating, controlled by a heat pump.

Stairs to office/bib and at +1 the dining room with gigantic window: masses of light and beautiful view - a wonderful cocoon with masses of privacy. Timeless design in the custom kitchen with low wall units, stainless steel, black brick composition with original concrete top and top appliances by Gaggenau, Bora, Miele, Vola and Liebherr.

Upstairs: living room with another giga window, sculptural fireplace and mantel. Above, an open split level, currently office with blissful view. The built-in cupboards in ash veneer and stainless steel are beautiful and super functional. Next floor: bedroom with bathroom in the same tones as in the original design. Lastly, the 2nd bedroom and the ultra cool roof terrace with a view.

‘The wide view over Lys and park is ideal for your daily dose of people watching. Pedestrians, cyclists and even kayakers.... The water and greenery seem to have a calming effect on everyone. Inside, daylight pours in from morning to night - lovely. The openness of the dining area is also incredibly cool, especially in contrast to the cozy privacy of the sitting room. Because the windows only start at one meter high, you get the feeling of a cozy sitting pit here, too. The open spaces give you a loft feel, but in height. The unique architectural character and countless beautiful details.... This is enjoyment every day.

When we bought the house, the great location was the final deciding factor: a 100 meter walk from restaurants such as our absolute favorite Door 73, Oak and Rizoom. At the same time, you can also get out of town in no time by car, on the R4 or small ring road via a quiet approach route.
