For thirty years we have loved this beautiful family home as a family. We converted the dilapidated farmhouse into a home ourselves, thinking about every shape, color and material. The living kitchen became the heart of the house. Here we cook with fresh vegetables and herbs, straight from the garden onto our plates. Our three daughters were royalty in the huge garden - picnics under the trees, garden parties with friends, sleepovers in the outhouse.... Just like Astrid Lindgren's book, The Children of Bolder Neighbors - but real. The studio, with its beautiful light, worked incredibly inspiring for Jo, who is an artist, and for everyone who visited. In all seasons we enjoyed the vastness of the landscapes in this wonderful region. Our 'schoon plekske' in the neighborhood, that was the Doornendijk with its creeks, a place we will always return to for walks.
