Description

In the car-free part of one of the most beautiful historical streets in Mechelen, bordered by numerous bourgeois and town houses, with a view of St John's Church, close to the Lumière cinema, Hof van Busleyden museum, the Predikheren with its internationally acclaimed city library, resto Tinèlle, Bar Bib, Grote Markt at 100 metres, a mobiscore of 9,6 and plenty of parking possibilities all around.

At the end of the 19th century, this sublime mansion saw the light of day. In 2021-2022 it got its second breath after a major total renovation. Completely new utilities, pipes, electricity, roof insulation, boiler, partly new windows, bathrooms, kitchen, floors, restored ceilings...  If you want, you can also buy the furniture with it - to move into.

Majestic entrance hall on marble, in front the sitting area on original herringbone parquet and behind it the intimate, spacious dining area. Intermediate door in black steel to the amazing kitchen with dining area, island and custom-made window seat - what a place to come home to! The many windows to the large, south-east-facing garden provide plenty of natural light in winter and summer. Full basement with, among other things, wine cellar.

At +1, a stately, L-shaped living space on block parquet and fantastic views of St John's Church. To the rear, a kitchenette and nice, sunny terrace. Mezzanine floor with bathroom and 2 bedrooms at +2, at +3 another 2 bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom.

Your chance to become the resident of a brand-new renovated property brimming with history.

owner speaks out

I had a wonderful childhood in my childhood home. When my father moved out, I decided to give our beautiful mansion one last salute of honour. It is a house over a hundred years old, with an equally old soul. By renovating it with a lot of love and care, I also put a piece of my own soul into it. In this way, I wanted to breathe new life into it and make it completely ready for a new future with new owners. It is my ultimate thanksgiving, and I hope the next residents may become as happy here as I have been.
