Description

Midtown. Fresh flowers from the Vogeltjesmarkt and shopping in the fashionable Schuttershofstraat. At the same time near Central Station and quickly on the arterial roads via the Leien.

In this iconic building, arch. Léon Stynen and Paul De Meyer combined post-war modernism with sophisticated brutalism. It was commissioned by L'Assurance Liégeoise in 1960. Today, more than 60 years later, you are still overwhelmed by its handsome architecture. The entrance hall alone says it all: classy marble, warm wood, elegant finishes and details... It's like being in an episode of Mad Men.

Located on the 1st floor, the flat was completely renovated in 2015. Concrete ceilings, original windows with renewed double glazing, oak parquet... No expense was spared.

The beautiful living space is the heart of the flat. An open feeling prevails here thanks to the large windows all around; at the same time, there are plenty of places to cosy up. From the open kitchen on natural stone tiles, you are always in touch with your housemates or guests. The indoor terrace offers plenty of privacy, a lovely open air cocoon to relax with a drink and a good book.

The 2 spacious bedrooms each have their own bathroom: 1 bathroom with bathtub and sink and 1 bathroom with shower and sink. In the master bedroom you will also find a handy dressing room. Plenty of storage space, including in the large utility room (with space for washing machines), extra storage room and cellar.

owner speaks out

A thing of beauty is a joy forever. That quote by John Keats is always on my mind when I'm here. I automatically become joyful when I am at home. I spent a lot of time choosing the colours for this apartment. Together with a painter from Brussels, I chose a sophisticated colour palette of blue, green and different shades of white. Colour has always been very important to me. The beauty of the building and the flat also remain a source of inspiration. Add to this the fantastic, super-central location in the heart of the city, and the atmosphere in 'den blok' with fine, all fantastic neighbours, and you can understand why this is not just another house for me, but truly a warm home.
