When I bought the apartment, it still had to be built. My son-in-law – who is an architect – completely redesigned the originally planned layout to create as much light as possible. On the plan, this apartment was drawn as a three-bedroom apartment; I sacrificed one bedroom to create a through-apartment. With a wide hallway connecting the front and back.
My children live in Ghent, and I’ve now decided to live a bit closer to them. If I could, I would take my apartment with me. I’m really going to miss this lovely place. Drinking coffee on my terrace in the morning sun, reading a book in the afternoon sun… Wonderful! And it’s also delightfully quiet here. Almost a hidden spot in the city.
