In the heart of Mechelen’s main shopping street lies a unique architectural gem: Hof van Grimbergen, with a surprisingly lush city garden, also accessible from the quiet rear street, as are the covered parking spaces.
Behind the grand façade unfolds a tranquil haven in one of Mechelen’s oldest listed monuments, dating back to 1303. In 1912, architect Hemelsoet transformed it into an eclectic city palace. Rich finishes include gold leaf, marble, gilded stucco, and decorative panels. The wrought-iron gate and staircase are by master craftsman L. Van Boeckel. Carefully restored with respect for heritage.
Inside are several salons, a dining room, library, office, music room, several bedrooms, and bathrooms. The kitchen opens to a sunny terrace and garden. The top floor offers a panoramic attic with city views.
A service staircase and option of a discreet rear entrance offer flexibility—ideal for cohousing, live–work combinations, or professional use. Parking spaces and/or garages can be purchased optionally.
A place to live, receive, inspire, and create.
