Description

In 1975, architect Paul Schellekens designed this villa with fascinating contrasts in textures, rough materials, geometric and massive volumes, accent walls in brick, split-levels... - the Turnhout School at its best, and also optimised in terms of energy, with solar panels, geothermal heat pump, insulation, air conditioning, etc.

The light-flooded hall provides an impressive entrance with exposed concrete ceiling, fixed carpet and natural stone. Inside, the split-levels flow nicely into one another: cosy sitting area with fireplace, living room with unique windows and phenomenal garden view, on level one the first office, super cosy dining room with fireplace and BBQ. Next door, the modern kitchen (Miele, Gaggenau) with pantry. The sun-drenched property with garden and tennis court is a unique place for playing children, peace and quiet, bon vivants and sports enthusiasts.

To the right of the entrance hall: second office and master bedroom with en suite dressing room, bathroom and blissful view of the inner garden. Indoor swimming pool with large glass windows, terraces, wellness, sauna, fitness and third wood-burning fireplace. Magnificent spiral staircase to the first floor with 4 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Stock and wine cellar. Garage for 3 cars.

Stunning modernism on a unique estate - for true gourmets.

owner speaks out

We have lived here since 1975. The estate previously belonged to my father-in-law and we instantly fell in love with the area and the garden. Then again, it's a wonderfully beautiful place, so it wasn't very difficult. Paul Schellekens was an architect friend of mine and he charmed us with the plans he drew. It took no time at all for him to design and build the house. We like Paul Schellekens' way of thinking, he is our family architect. The old bricks don't need to be painted - super convenient, durable and low-maintenance in this wooded area.

That the master bedroom bed was positioned in the corner, for example, is also really typical of Paul Schellekens. Moreover, our bedroom is close to the pool, so we can get up and go swimming right away - blissful. The garden is full of valuable, old trees. We have held countless BBQs and parties here. Even our children got married here on the estate, with a tent on the grass, very idyllic. Sometimes we organised sports days with the children: tennis, volleyball, swimming, jumping over the moat with poles... An incredible time! Even when grandchildren came, this proved to be a very rewarding place. Very pleasant sleepovers in the sitting pit, collecting Easter eggs... Unforgettable! The community of Beerse is also very pleasant, with many friendly Kempen people and a fine mentality.
