Description

In a sought-after and ideally located residential area near Ghent-Sint-Pieters, between city and station, with good accessibility and plenty of parking possibilities.

This characterful apartment building, designed in 1962 by architect Bert De Carne, was recently thoroughly renovated. Inside, the current owners, themselves architects, carried out a complete renovation five years ago. Cool, original choices go hand in hand with the authentic herringbone and block parquet, the original fireplace mantel and beautiful, wooden doors with steel door handles. The icing on the cake? The spacious, pleasantly light-filled rooms and nice, sunny terraces at the front and back.

Lift or stairs to the 3rd floor. Spacious entrance hall with fitted storage cupboard and space for washing machine and tumble dryer. Large opening to the sun-drenched, open living space, where the authentic fireplace mantle adds to the atmosphere. In the open kitchen: nice tiles, SMEG cooker, cherry woodwork and stainless steel worktop. On the front terrace, with vintage 60s floor tiles, you can enjoy a blissful morning coffee or lunch in the sun.

Further down the entrance hall, 4 more doors lead respectively to the spacious master bedroom with fitted wardrobes and the 2nd terrace, ideal for the evening sun; the 2nd, large bedroom; the bathroom with shower and washbasin, again with cool tiles; and finally a separate toilet. Spacious basement storage room and bike shed available. If you want, you can take over the rent of the garage.

Recently renovated flat with nice 60s details - a ready-to-go topper.

owner speaks out

The sunny weekend days in the apartment, getting up with a beautiful sun falling in, having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Book Tower, doing all our shopping on foot, taking the train to Ostend, Antwerp, Brussels and then coming home and having aperitifs on the terrace in the evening sun. The Parisian feel of the Koningin Elisabethlaan, with all the cafés, caterers and ice cream shops, the biomarket on the Maria Hendrikaplein on Sundays and the Flower Market on the Kouter... We're going to miss so many things here! Everything is close from here, a great luxury: within ten minutes you are at the station, but also in the centre of Ghent, walking along the Leie or at the Blaarmeersen.
