Description

Designed by architect J.G. Semey, this home can be found among many beautifully preserved, lightly eclectic civic houses from 1895-1898. Located around the corner from the Fisheries, in an attractive neighborhood with facade gardens and benches. Within walking distance: the green Ferdinand Lousbergspark, as well as the neighborhood bicycle parking in the Karperstraat. Easily accessible, close to public transport and access roads and the heart of the city just 10 minutes by bike. On foot for a drink at De Kleine Kunst or interior shopping at Umber and Smoke. Also fun: the annual flea market nearby.

The stylish taupe gray painted facade with cozy bench and tile garden immediately catches the eye. Even in the entrance hall, the charm of this home immediately shows itself. The house follows the classic layout: on the street side the living room with round arch, at the back the bright kitchen with dining area. These spaces are connected by what is now a home office with nice reading corner - or will you turn it into a play corner or chill zone? The sunny patio is ideal for lounging or a barbecue. In winter, you can store your outdoor gear in the basement.

On the 1st floor you will find the first bedroom and a fully equipped bathroom that is literally bathed in natural daylight: shower, lovely bathtub and double sink - there is enough space here to master every morning rush. Next to the bathroom is a practical storage space for a washing machine. On the 2nd floor you enter the large 2nd (main) bedroom, where you still have room for a dressing room.

Possibility to take over rental parking space.

The owner, Melanie,

owner speaks out

'What we're going to miss here? So much! The cozy evenings relaxing in our sitting area, where the sun shines in nicely on summer evenings, or with candles during the dark months. Unforgettable dinners or lazy Sundays with the newspaper in the sunlit kitchen or the reading nook in between. When I bought the fully renovated home in 2016, I was immediately charmed by its authentic elements, such as the round arch, plank floors, staircase and facade. At the same time, more recent interventions provide masses of light, a bliss. The neighborhood is also so cool, with a nice mix of ages. In the evening a stroll along the Visserij or the car-free part of the quays, close to the beautiful historic center of Ghent, and nice cafes and restaurants within walking distance.... We had a great time here.'
