This neighbourhood is a colourful mix of atmospheres: from Saturday market over Turkish pita to Portuguese churrasqueira, and more fun hotspots like Colonel & Reede and Cuperus. To the Eilandje and MAS we went on foot, via the very Instagrammable pedestrian bridge over the Leien. We saw the neighbourhood really pick up: Park Spoor Noord and the Leien are our favourite upgrades.
In the middle of the city, yet very easy to get to work, either by train or by car from the underground car park nearby. For groceries, we have plenty of choice: Albert Heijn, Delhaize in the new Cadix neighbourhood, or at one of the many grocery shops nearby.
Entering here, that cosy bustle downstairs melts away like snow in the sun. In our bedroom, we only hear the birds singing, lovely. The many original elements from the interwar period, the sense of space, the layout... All these elements together make this flat so special to us. The enormous living space is the perfect place to host friends. In the ten years we've lived here, we gave the apartment a complete makeover with a modern, timeless look, keeping the character as much as possible. We sincerely hope the next residents will feel as at home here as we do!
