Description

In a wide street in the center, close to schools, stores, playground and fitness. Lovely walking and cycling along the Durme and the Scheldt, in the 'Land of Filip De Pillecyn'. No shortage of youth clubs, sports clubs and culture either. In short, here you live close to everything you need.

This authentic house from around 1900 is on the list of immovable heritage and when you see the charming facade, you immediately understand why. It has not one but two front doors, one with access to the house and the other with a handy passage to the garden, ideal for bikes or gardening equipment, and then you have a third access via the carport at the back.

Inside the house you will be overwhelmed by the sun-drenched rooms with high ceilings and original features throughout, such as the entrance hall with authentic tiled floor, marble fireplace mantles, beautiful parquet floors, artisan hand-painted (folding) doors and stunning stained glass. Give this place a thorough update and you have an absolute top-notch home on your hands.

On the ground floor you will find a separate office. Also here you will find the 2 living areas with dizzyingly high ceilings, separated by authentically painted folding doors and the XL kitchen. Dry basement and large, lush garden with plenty of room for romping kids and festive BBQs.

The 1st floor rooms are all about the same size, 1 with en suite bathroom. Of the 2nd floor, now (storage) attic, you can easily make another full, beautiful floor (fixed staircase).

Plenty of charm, plenty of possibilities: a dream property for lovers of authenticity.

'About forty years ago we fell like a log for the magnificent facade of this house. When we stepped inside, it became even more beautiful.'
The owners,

owner speaks out

'About forty years ago, we fell like a log for the magnificent facade of this house. When we stepped inside, it became even more beautiful: the authentic elements such as the fireplaces, stained glass and painted doors immediately appealed to us. We also liked the spacious feeling you get thanks to the height of the living room.

Also very nice: the large but manageable garden, with side gate on the street side, super convenient to easily park your bikes or put out the garbage cans. Later we bought an extra piece of land behind the garden, with exit towards the parking lot and Sint-Jansstraat. There we built a carport, a handy extra that we also enjoyed a lot.

The street itself is also quite wide compared to many other, rather narrow center streets in Hamme. A lot of older houses in the Stationsstraat bear witness to its prosperity.'
