Description

In a cozy cul-de-sac, heart of Ghent, near the Groenevalleipark, side street of the Coupure. Great added value: the brand new Watt site behind the corner with shared vegetable garden and public garden of 2000 m2.

From the foundation over the interior to the ridge of the roof: this home received a complete makeover from head to toe in 2019. In doing so, the owners resolutely chose sober, solid materials. The home was completely opened up, resulting in a particularly pleasant flow inside. These open spaces, the abundance of windows that provide maximum light and the generous use of wood give the house subtle Scandinavian vibes.

Even from the street, this sun-filled home catches the eye. Bikes, coats, washing machines and the utility room find their place in the multifunctional entrance hall. A sliding door in textured glass separates the entrance hall from the tasteful open kitchen with kitchen island in Corian and Bulthaup cooker hood. By extension is the dining room and a 1st cosy sitting area overlooking the south-facing patio, bringing the greenery and sunshine right inside. Keep those balmy summer evenings coming... At the back: bathroom with burgundy Mosa tiles, toilet, spacious shower and 2 sinks. Handy basement space for stuff you don't need often.

The 1st floor: cozy living room and 2nd dining room. On the 2nd floor: stylish office and spacious master bedroom and finally an extra sleeping space on the mezzanine above.

Lots of light, wood and glass and cleverly arranged, multi-purpose spaces in a coveted location in the heart of Ghent: this is urban living in style anno 2021.

'The alley provides the ideal combination of the city bustle and the tranquility of a cul-de-sac.'
The owners,

owner speaks out

Living here is incredibly nice. The alley provides the ideal combination of hustle and bustle and peace: the hustle & bustle of the city where everything is within walking distance, and at the same time the tranquility of a cul-de-sac where no one really needs to be. In good weather, we simply set up a table in the street for an aperitif with the neighbors or make use of the shared garden with friends. The two of us enjoy our private patio in peace. It is also wonderful how there is always sunlight coming in from somewhere. When we walk around here, we sometimes imagine ourselves in Stockholm or Copenhagen.
