The pride of Lier. This fantastic house was built by city architect Jozef Meulepas as a private residence.

Situated in a perfect location in Lier, just inside the city ring road, a stone's throw from the centre, close to the station, with easy access to the main roads, schools, shops and restaurants nearby and with carefree greenery on your doorstep.

The house testifies to architect Meulepas' preference for early modernism. The horizontal character is achieved thanks to the wide sill in blue stone, the concrete terraces with unpretentious wrought ironwork and the sober brown/red brick. The front door made of metal and finished with glazed and gilded tiles gives a slightly Art Deco touch to the house.

Inside, a beautiful tropical wood was used for the doors, staircase and fitted cupboards. An authentic frut floor in the hallway makes the house trendy and current. In the office, a fishbone parquet was chosen. The living space was clad in strip parquet. The house still has the original door handles and window fittings.

The house requires total renovation: kitchen, bathroom, electricity, heating, windows. In addition, the house is protected heritage. What does this mean? If it is your own property, you can buy at 1% selling rights. You then have to put 5% into renovation within five years. This is where you save. The renovation is done in consultation with heritage conservation. Items such as the original doors, handles, floors, stairs, etc. must of course be respected. Towards maintenance, you are eligible for annual subsidies for management or repair work.
