'At first we were wedded to living in the heart of Ghent, but when we saw this beautiful home in Sint-Amandsberg, near Campo Santo, we realised that here we could combine the best of both worlds: the dynamism of the city and the space and tranquillity of greenery.
The garden is wonderfully wild, a nice place to invite friends round the fire pit. If we do feel like the hustle and bustle of city life, we can be there in no time, after a nice bike ride along the New Docks. We immediately knew this was a unique opportunity we couldn't pass up.
The woman who used to live here with her four children has preserved the house with so much love and care that it looks almost as it did when it was built in 1968. We ourselves upgraded the windows, electricity, heating and kitchen to contemporary standards in 2020.'
