Between the site of the Agfa-Gevaert business premises and the various railway lines in Mortsel lurk beautiful homes. From romantic cottage-style houses to sleek modernism. During the interwar period, progressive architects such as Jos Ritzen, Nachman Kaplansky and Rik Jacops built contemporary homes in Mortsel, of which Jaak Blockstraat offers a varied palette.

We meet at café monico. Once again Jo Breacke is going to guide us in an environment where he is at home. We start our walk with an architect's house built in new-business style to the design of Gabriel Vinck.

Next, we arrive in Jaak Blockxstraat where we admire the two-family house 'Huis Les Marguerites' by architect Rik Jacops. In the streets Dieseghemlei, Osylei, Kapellelei and Amedeus Stockmanslei, we appreciate the beautiful architecture by both well-known and lesser-known architects.

To round off this architectural walk, Immodôme offers a drink.
