Antwerp has lived with its back to the Scheldt for centuries. Now living along the Scheldt is enjoying a city on the River. Antwerp's cradle lies around the Steen.

This peninsula in the Scheldt was our cradle. Why do you have to climb a ramp to get into Antwerp's oldest and now modernised building. And why were walking terraces built along the Scheldt? Architect Bob Van Reeth set the example here with the Van Roosmalen house. Jo Crepain is building a new office along the Scheldt so that his employees no longer have to make the daily commute to Kapellen. The employer comes to the employee with his office. The redevelopment of the Scheldt quays makes them there again for Antwerp citizens and local residents.

We would like to invite you and your family to this architecture walk led by Alex Elaut, experienced city guide. Afterwards, Immodôme will treat you to a drink at Pinot's on Vrijdagsmarkt.
