When our second child was on the way, we were looking for a project in a green area. Not something that was ready-made, but a house with character that we could make our own. We fell in love with this façade instantly, without even seeing the inside. The story behind it was also fascinating: this house turned out to be the caretaker's house of the former Withof Castle – it even still had a bell on the roof.
During the first renovation, we tackled the cacophony of renovations and styles. The planned three months of renovation turned into eleven, but – if we may say so ourselves – we managed to beautifully preserve the spirit of the house. We waited until 2021 for the second part of the renovation. In the meantime, we got to know the house really well, so we knew exactly what we wanted to furnish where and which corners were cosy in which season. After that second renovation, we also tackled the entire garden. We have now been able to enjoy it to the full for two years and... we are ready for a new challenge. Everyone thinks we're crazy, but we sincerely hope to find someone who can appreciate our style and all the love and energy we put into it. Someone who, who knows, like us twelve years ago, might fall in love with this special place at first sight.
