Description

On the charming Onze-Lieve-Vrouweplein, in the heart of Boechout, this property enjoys an exceptionally peaceful setting. Around the petanque court, a distinct village atmosphere prevails, while the vibrant life of the town centre unfolds just a short stroll away. Bakeries, coffee bars, boutiques and restaurants are literally around the corner. Schools, public transport and the train station are also easily accessible. A place where tranquillity and liveliness blend effortlessly.

Tucked away on a quiet square with a petanque court, in the very heart of Boechout, this former dentist’s residence awaits a new chapter. Behind its stately façade lies a home of remarkable proportions, offering 424 m² of living space, surrounded by a secluded garden.

The house still visibly carries traces of its past. At the front are the former practice rooms: a waiting room, consultation room and office with library, discreetly separated from the private living quarters. A place where living and working can merge seamlessly. Further inside, a monumental marble entrance hall unfolds, featuring an elegant staircase that gracefully connects the different levels of the home. Large windows draw natural light deep into the interiors and create a strong connection with the garden.

The first floor exudes an almost cinematic atmosphere: a winter lounge with fireplace, and a bar area designed for long evenings — ideal for entertaining guests or as a versatile family space. On this same level, the master bedroom opens onto a terrace overlooking the lush garden, alongside two additional bedrooms and a bathroom.

The second floor tells its own story, offering three further bedrooms and an attic room that could easily be transformed into an additional bathroom, dressing room or hobby space.

This is not a home that is immediately finished — and that is precisely where its rarity lies: a property with soul, grandeur and layers of history, ready to be brought back to life with vision and care. An exceptional renovation project, right in the centre of the village and yet remarkably serene.

Some houses do not tell a story. They are the story. This former dentist’s residence in the heart of Boechout is waiting for someone to revive it once again. A rare renovation opportunity filled with memories, character and unexpected spaces. Discover the full story during a private viewing.

The owners,

owner speaks out

We remember a house that was always full of life. During the day, the front doorbell rang endlessly and the scent of disinfectant lingered through the practice while our parents relieved people of their toothaches downstairs. But once the door closed in the evening, it became our home again: a place filled with noise, music, friends and stories. There were the legendary parties in the games room with bar, somewhere in the 1970s, where records played deep into the night and someone would inevitably stay over because going home no longer seemed like a good idea. Mattresses would suddenly appear everywhere: in the guest room, on the parquet floor, sometimes even half underneath a table. There were also the barbecues in the garden, summer evenings spent on the swing. On winter nights, we gathered close to the fireplace, eating pancakes while everyone disappeared into books, films or conversations that lasted far longer than intended. One brother endlessly played the drums in his room, another built a radio studio, while our sister hesitantly played Erik Satie on the piano. This house gave us the freedom to be loud, to dream, to get lost — and yet always find our way home again. It carries dozens of lives within it: that of the practice, of a family, of friends, of long nights and slow Sundays. Perhaps that is what a house ultimately becomes: a collection of memories that lingers within the walls long after everyone has left. It will not be easy to let it go, but we wish for this house — once lived in with so much love — a beautiful new chapter.
