Description

A residential street, yet rural with plenty of greenery and water nearby, as both the Scheldt and the Durme rivers, as well as the Lippenbroek and Durme Valley nature reserves, are close by.
However, if you’re in the mood for a bit of city life, you’ll never have to travel far, as you’ll be living almost right in the middle between
Antwerp and Ghent, with smaller towns like Lokeren, Sint-Niklaas, Temse, and Dendermonde also within easy reach.

Behind the Art Deco façade of this elegant, character-filled townhouse, a successful blend of authentic elements and modern, high-quality additions crafted from premium materials awaits you.
A stately entry hall with an authentic tile floor and a storage room to the left. The tall double doors on the right lead to the spacious living room, which flows into the sleek, modern kitchen featuring XL skylights and a fantastic island with plenty of workspace.
The adjoining dining area also invites you to enjoy cozy get-togethers, as does the lush city garden—a soothing oasis with two terraces and plenty of greenery. A convenient laundry area and guest bathroom.

In 2018, MAN Architects completed the new addition featuring a kitchen, storage room, and sublime retail space (approx. 70 m²) with a separate entrance and an eye-catching counter. The mezzanine in the store connects to the private residence via the green door with beautiful stained-glass windows.
On the first floor: three bedrooms, a stylish bathroom with a bathtub and walk-in shower, and a storage/dressing room. The attic is currently an ideal space for leisure activities, but you can also create more bedrooms.

Love at first sight – there’s no other way to put it. Of course, it needed work, but behind every wall and in every room, we saw above all the potential and charm of what this house could become.

We’re also mad about our garden: a mini-biotope with loads of different types of plants. It’s bliss to hear the first birds singing here in spring, whilst the trees always provide lovely shade in summer.

A funny anecdote: when we were laying out the garden, we found a few old beer bottles from the 1930s buried in the ground. They probably belonged to the workmen who carried out the Art Deco-style façade renovation here back then. A lovely find!
