For no less than 26 years this was my base of operations, my warm blanket to come home to, my particularly renovated house. Over the years, I renovated the house single-handedly, qualitatively. In doing so, I always had great respect for the individuality and originality of this special house. Every time I renovated a room, I went the extra mile. For instance, the built-in speakers and dim lights in the outside area invariably make for super-enjoyable evenings. Rain? Too hot? No problem on the semi-covered terrace. This was my dream spot for lots of summer evenings!
In the living areas, I left the authentic fireplaces completely intact, of course, as did the stained-glass skylight. I also lovingly restored the panelling and stately ornamental ceilings. I carefully chose the colour palette, and the custom-made cupboards are also part of the house.
With all these beautiful memories, it really became a part of me, just like the neighbours and the neighbourhood. Together we saw the neighbourhood rise over the years, which creates a bond anyway. The central location is also great: you only have to walk a few minutes and you are already at Central Station, the opera or the shopping street.... I am moving because a new chapter is starting in my life, but this place I will carry in my heart forever.
